About The Position

As a Security Officer - Security Screener in La Grange Highlands, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help support smooth daily operations by screening people and deliveries, verifying credentials, monitoring entry points and shipping areas, and documenting security-related activity. You will stay highly visible, communicate clearly with team members and site leaders, and respond to concerns with professionalism and care. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics distribution location.
• Screen employees, visitors, drivers, and vendors as required, including verifying identification, confirming authorization, and/or directing individuals through established screening steps.
• Inspect inbound and outbound items for prohibited materials, suspicious indicators, and/or policy violations while maintaining chain of custody for any items requiring follow-up.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying site leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
• Complete required reports and logs, communicate screening outcomes to supervisors and/or site contacts, and support access control practices to help to deter unauthorized entry.
