As a Screener with Allied Universal at a correctional location, you will help monitor entry points, screen people and property, and support security-related procedures through clear communication and professionalism. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, access screening protocols, and/or emergency response activities in a calm and professional manner.
  • Screen employees, visitors, contractors, and/or deliveries entering and exiting the location using assigned equipment and established post orders.
  • Monitor access points and verify identification, authorization, and permitted items to help support orderly entry and help to deter prohibited activity.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around designated interior areas, entry points, and perimeter locations, as directed by site procedures and working conditions.
