As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government education location, you will perform routine foot and/or bike patrols, remain highly visible, and document security-related observations to help reduce incidents. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, supporting patrol coverage and response as needed. You will deliver professional customer service and clear communication while working with a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and guided by integrity and a people-first culture.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be able to ride a bike.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location supporting public education operations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations, with working conditions that may vary by assignment.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site staff and emergency services as directed.
  • Monitor access points and interior areas as assigned, reporting suspicious activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Complete timely reports and logs, communicate observations to shift leadership, and support site rules related to visitor management, student and staff movement, and special events as assigned.
