Job Description As a Security Officer - Roving Rounds in Petersburg, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will support staff, patients, and visitors with calm customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting. Requirements

  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned areas including entrances, waiting areas, corridors, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, reporting hazards, and coordinating with clinical staff and/or local emergency responders as directed.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor management such as greeting, providing directions, verifying authorization, and supporting controlled access to restricted areas per site policy.
  • Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs, communicate observations to supervisors and site contacts, and support security-related audits such as badge checks and key control as assigned.
