As an Access Control Officer at a busy retail location, you will help manage entry points, check badges and/or visitor credentials, monitor activity, and conduct routine patrols to help reduce security-related incidents. You will be a visible, helpful presence, providing clear communication and customer service to shoppers, tenants, and staff. Requirements
- Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
- Control access at entrances and exits by checking identification and/or credentials, managing visitor sign-in, and directing customers, vendors, and deliveries to appropriate locations.
- Monitor the location for unusual activity and help to deter theft, trespass, and/or disruptive behavior through presence, observation, and timely reporting.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting site leadership and/or emergency services as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including sales floors, receiving areas, and parking areas when assigned, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
