Job Description As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol Driver in Chapel Hill, NC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in an education environment, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and maintaining a visible presence throughout the location. This driving post requires a valid driver's license. You will provide outstanding customer service and communication, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere while upholding Allied Universal's values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies within the university environment.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting the educational community as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and/or suspicious behavior.
• Observe and report any security-related concerns or incidents to Allied Universal management and campus representatives.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points at the location, helping to maintain orderly flow of individuals.
• Support emergency response activities in accordance with site protocols, assisting university staff and public officials as required.
• Document all daily activities, incidents, and observations in detailed written reports as directed by Allied Universal procedures.
• Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential disturbances and to promote a welcoming atmosphere for all campus occupants.
