Security Officer - Retail Mall Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Retail Mall Patrol in Westfield, MA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will actively monitor and patrol retail locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing exceptional customer service. Your visible presence supports a welcoming environment for staff and visitors. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support a secure environment.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to help to deter unauthorized access and support loss prevention efforts.
- Document observations, incidents, and activities thoroughly and accurately according to Allied Universal protocols.
- Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and employees to provide assistance and respond to inquiries as needed.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency responders when necessary to address incidents at the location.
