As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a residential community, you will tour the property, check doors and access points, and help to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence. You will support residents and visitors with courteous service, clear communication, and prompt reporting of concerns. Requirements

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have access control and/or badge experience, preferred.
  • Be able to lift more than 20 lbs, preferred.
  • Have customer service experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and staff by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a residential setting.
  • Control access at entrances and common areas by verifying identification and/or authorization, issuing visitor instructions, and directing deliveries and service providers according to site-specific policies.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior floors, stairwells, common areas, parking areas, and the building perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, requesting assistance from local responders when needed, and completing required notifications.
  • Document patrol activities, access control actions, and incident details in written reports and/or electronic logs, and communicate status updates to Allied Universal supervision and onsite management.
