About The Position

As a Security Officer - Research Institute in La Jolla, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a renowned research and education location, you will conduct regular patrols and remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents and promote a welcoming atmosphere. You will interact with students, staff, and visitors, providing outstanding customer service and clear communication. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or first aid certification is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and/or behaviors.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other designated areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
  • Document observations, incidents, and/or activities as required by site protocols.
  • Assist with emergency response activities as appropriate to the situation and location.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Allied Universal management and/or client representatives as needed for security-related matters.
