Job Description As a Security Officer - Refinery Gatehouse in Marcus Hook, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, support badge issuance and/or access updates, and greet employees and visitors with professional customer service. You will conduct routine patrols, monitor activity, document security-related events, and communicate clearly with site teams. Bring an agile, reliable, and innovative mindset, with teamwork and integrity guiding every interaction.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, contractors, and employees by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial chemical processing location.
  • Operate access control by verifying identification and authorization, issuing visitor credentials, managing entry and exit logs, and directing authorized traffic to designated areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and/or emergency services per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of gates, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized access, identify unusual conditions, and report maintenance or operational concerns through proper channels.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and communication systems, document activity in daily reports, and maintain clear shift turnover notes for continuity of operations.
