Job Description As a Security Officer - Refinery Gatehouse in Marcus Hook, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, support badge issuance and/or access updates, and greet employees and visitors with professional customer service. You will conduct routine patrols, monitor activity, document security-related events, and communicate clearly with site teams. Bring an agile, reliable, and innovative mindset, with teamwork and integrity guiding every interaction.

Requirements

Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

CPR certification is preferred.
Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, contractors, and employees by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial chemical processing location.
Operate access control by verifying identification and authorization, issuing visitor credentials, managing entry and exit logs, and directing authorized traffic to designated areas.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and/or emergency services per post orders.
Conduct regular and random patrols of gates, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized access, identify unusual conditions, and report maintenance or operational concerns through proper channels.
Monitor cameras, alarms, and communication systems, document activity in daily reports, and maintain clear shift turnover notes for continuity of operations.
