About The Position

As a Security Officer - Perimeter Patrol Driver in Bristow, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a leading tech and data center location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will provide customer service through clear communication, report concerns, and support access control activities as needed. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, backed by teamwork, integrity, and innovative, people-first service.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology data center location.
  • Respond to alarms, access control issues, suspicious activity, and other incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and escalating per site protocol.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior spaces, building exteriors, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized access and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, gates, and designated posts, verifying credentials, observing traffic flow, and assisting with visitor check-in and/or badging processes as directed by site policy.
  • Complete detailed daily activity reports and incident reports, communicate updates to supervisors and site contacts, and support shift turnover with clear, timely information.
