About The Position

As a Security Officer - Driver Perimeter Checks in Mount Vernon, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access control and incident reporting. This is a driving post and requires a valid driver’s license per AU Driver Policy requirements. You will deliver strong customer service and clear communication while living Allied Universal values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Previous Firefighting Experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and emergency services as directed and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, production areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help identify irregular conditions, hazards, and/or unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and security-related equipment such as alarms, gates, and/or cameras as assigned, helping to control entry and maintain orderly site traffic.
  • Complete shift activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation, and communicate pertinent information during post briefings and/or relief transitions.
