About The Position
As a Security Officer Patrol Watch in Santa Monica, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a busy retail location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service. Requirements
- Possess 6 or more months of security-related experience.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
- Access control or badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and sharing information with site contacts and/or local responders when needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout storefront areas, common areas, parking locations, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to help to identify access concerns, policy violations, and/or customer assistance needs while maintaining a professional presence.
- Support retail operations by observing for suspicious behavior, addressing routine concerns according to post orders, and communicating clearly with management and/or public-facing personnel.
