As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a shelter location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support staff and residents with respectful customer service. You will help manage access control and badge checks, document observations, and communicate clearly during day-to-day operations. Requirements

  • Hold a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have 1+ years of security experience.
  • The client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and residents by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a shelter location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts and requesting additional assistance as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, common spaces, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and/or authorization when required, and direct visitors, vendors, and service providers according to site protocols.
  • Document security-related activities, incidents, and observations in written reports and logs, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
