As a Screener with Allied Universal, you will support security-related operations at a controlled-access facility by checking identification, screening visitors and deliveries, and monitoring entry points and nearby areas for unusual activity. You will follow site procedures, communicate clearly with staff and the public, document incidents, and help maintain orderly access. Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- A guard card/license is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Operate entry screening checkpoints, including monitoring access control points, conducting screening with walk-through detectors and/or hand-held wands, and inspecting authorized items to help identify prohibited property.
- Verify identification and authorization for entry, issue visitor instructions, and maintain required logs, reports, and chain of custody documentation per site policy.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site leadership and documenting events per post orders.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter as assigned. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
