As a Screener with Allied Universal, you will support a busy campus location by greeting visitors, conducting entry screening, monitoring assigned areas, and completing routine patrols to help reduce security-related incidents. You will stay visible, communicate clearly with staff and the public, and document concerns with professionalism. Requirements

  • Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
  • Screen individuals entering the facility by verifying credentials, observing for prohibited items, and directing visitors to appropriate check-in areas in accordance with post orders.
  • Operate screening equipment and/or conduct visual inspections of bags and packages as permitted by site policy, documenting findings and escalating concerns through the chain of command.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site representatives and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, common areas, and the perimeter to help to identify unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
