As a Screener at a busy healthcare location, you will be the first friendly point of contact, greeting patients and visitors, managing access, and supporting screening and visitor guidelines. You will remain visible, conduct routine rounds near entry points, and communicate clearly with staff to help identify and report security-related concerns. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following site-specific access control and security-related screening procedures at assigned entrances.
  • Screen individuals and belongings as required by location policy, help to identify prohibited items and/or concerning behavior, and refer findings to site leadership per protocol.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with clinical staff and emergency responders as needed.
  • Complete regular and random patrols of entry areas, waiting rooms, and nearby corridors, noting and reporting conditions that may require security-related attention.
  • Document screening activities, incidents, and unusual observations in written reports, and communicate updates to supervisors and/or the site contact.
