Job Description As a Security Officer - Lobby Screener in Edgerton, KS , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced tech and telecommunications location as a Screener, where you will help manage entry points by screening people and belongings, monitoring activity, and supporting visitor and employee check-in. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter incidents, and communicate clearly with site teams and guests. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a tech-focused location.
  • Conduct entry screening operations such as badge verification, visitor check-in, package and/or bag inspections, and operation of screening equipment in accordance with site procedures.
  • Monitor access points and lobby and/or screening areas, help to identify prohibited items or unauthorized entry attempts, and communicate concerns to site leadership per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with evacuations, medical response coordination, and/or traffic flow as directed.
  • Complete required documentation such as screening logs, incident reports, and shift activity reports, and communicate updates during shift turnover.
