As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor assigned areas through routine vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license and compliance with AU Driver Policy Requirements. You will deliver strong customer service, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and document activity using computer and/or tablet tools.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at an education location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations and notifying appropriate contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, classrooms, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor access points and observe visitor, student, and staff traffic for unusual conditions, escalating concerns per site procedures.
  • Complete daily activity reports and incident reports, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
