About The Position

As a Security Officer - Overnight Patrol in Rochester, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal at a leading aero and defense location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control, observe for unusual activity, and document findings using site tools. With an agile, reliable, and innovative team, you will deliver a welcoming presence through strong communication, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate for an aerospace and defense location.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, production and office areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification and/or authorization, directing visitors and deliveries, and following site badging and escort requirements.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including communicating with site contacts and/or public responders as directed by post orders.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation such as patrol logs, access records, and incident reports, and report maintenance issues or suspicious activity through Allied Universal reporting channels.
