Security Officer - Unarmed Overnight Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Unarmed Overnight Patrol in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a world-class cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol galleries, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to help reduce security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, respond to calls for assistance, and deliver outstanding customer service through clear communication with guests and staff. Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors at a cultural institution location by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with crowd management, lost property reports, and visitor concerns.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of galleries, exhibit areas, offices, loading areas, and perimeter spaces to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or hazards.
- Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and document entries, exits, and unusual conditions per site guidelines.
- Complete reports on incidents, observations, and patrol activities, and communicate status updates to site representatives and/or Allied Universal supervision.
