About The Position
As a Security Officer - Overnight Unarmed Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for service, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff, students, and visitors while delivering outstanding customer service. Requirements
- Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in an education location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting concerns to campus contacts and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols of academic buildings, residence halls, common areas, and perimeter spaces to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
- Monitor access points and visitor traffic, assist with ID verification and/or direction-giving, and help maintain orderly entry, exit, and crowd flow during classes and campus events.
- Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and patrol documentation, and communicate relevant information during shift briefings and/or post transitions.
