About The Position

As a Security Officer - Municipal Patrol in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy government transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access points and communicate clearly with riders, staff, and visitors while documenting concerns and escalating issues as needed. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, transit facility and vehicle yard policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with dispatch, operations staff, and local public agencies as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of transit stations, platforms, parking areas, maintenance locations, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points and assist with controlling entry to restricted areas, verifying credentials when required and/or directing visitors to the appropriate location.
Complete accurate reports on incidents, patrol activity, and observed hazards, and communicate relevant updates to site leadership per post orders.
