About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Municipal Patrol in Los Angeles, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a strong visible presence, and help to reduce security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols, respond to concerns, and support access control while delivering clear communication and exceptional customer service. Requirements

Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet preferred.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate public agency resources and/or site leadership as directed by post orders.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, corridors, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
Control access at assigned entry points by verifying identification, processing visitors, and directing traffic flow in accordance with site requirements.
Monitor alarms, radios, and government facility communications as assigned, and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or suspicious behavior through the appropriate channels.
Perform security-related screening and bag checks when assigned, consistent with site policies and applicable local requirements.
Complete routine logs, incident reports, and shift documentation with accurate details, including times, actions taken, and notifications made.
Provide visible armed presence while maintaining professional conduct and customer service, and maintain required certifications and authorized equipment in accordance with Allied Universal and site guidelines.
Support evacuations, lockdowns, and other emergency procedures as directed, assisting with accountability and controlled movement of personnel.
Coordinate with local law enforcement and/or on-site public agency partners when needed, relaying observations and following direction from designated authorities and post orders.
