As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government transit location, you will conduct routine patrols across assigned areas, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to requests with calm professionalism. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site contacts and/or local partners, and provide customer service that supports daily operations. Requirements

  • Have at least 6+ months of security experience.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting concerns, assisting with crowd control, and coordinating with site management and/or local authorities as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, bus bays, parking areas, and perimeter routes, observing and reporting conditions that may help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor assigned areas for suspicious behavior, unattended items, and policy violations, and complete required activity logs and incident reports in a timely manner.
  • Control access as directed by post orders, provide directions and assistance, and use radios and/or other communications equipment to relay information to dispatch and site contacts.
