As an unarmed patrol officer at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol campus areas, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, respond to alarms and concerns, and assist students, staff, and visitors with professional customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements. Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid is preferred.
• Comfortable using computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to campus staff, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with disturbances, medical calls, fire alarms, and other campus notifications per post orders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, common areas, parking lots, and the perimeter, noting unusual activity and helping to deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points and visitor flow as assigned, provide directions and information, and report maintenance concerns such as lighting or door hardware issues to the appropriate contact.
• Complete detailed shift documentation including patrol logs, incident reports, and equipment checks, and communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
