About The Position

As a Security Officer - Medical Facility Patrol in Westwood, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible throughout the facility, and provide exceptional customer service and communication, all while supporting a caring culture built on teamwork, reliability, and integrity.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • At least 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies within the healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting with emergency response activities as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and support a secure environment.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain awareness of surroundings.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual activity according to Allied Universal protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff and first responders as required to support a positive environment for all occupants.
  • Remain alert and observant while on duty, adapting to the unique needs of a healthcare location.
