About The Position

As a Security Officer - Media Campus Patrol Driver in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a leading tech and data center location, you will monitor access points, conduct routine patrols, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support badge and access control processes, document activity using a computer and/or tablet, and deliver strong customer service through clear communication. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license in line with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.

Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
CPR and/or First Aid is preferred and may be completed post hire.
Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal post orders, access requirements, and site-specific policies, and assisting with security-related requests as appropriate.
Conduct regular and random foot patrols of buildings, equipment areas, and perimeter routes at a technology-focused location, noting hazards, unusual conditions, and policy concerns.
Monitor entry points and controlled areas by observing activity, verifying authorization, and directing visitors, vendors, and deliveries to the proper check-in and/or staging areas.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting actions taken, and supporting emergency response activities as directed.
Complete timely reports and logs, including patrol documentation, incident reports, and shift turnover notes, using client-required tools and communication methods.
