As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a busy retail mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and assist guests and tenants with clear, professional communication. Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
- Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
- Pepper spray certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail common areas, parking structures, loading areas, and exterior perimeters; observe and report unusual activity and/or potential hazards.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls for service, and/or lost child assistance, following post orders and escalation protocols.
- Monitor access points and assist with traffic flow and/or crowd movement during peak shopping periods and special events; offer directions and information as needed.
- Complete detailed patrol logs, incident reports, and daily activity reports; communicate timely updates to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
