Job Description As a Security Officer - Mall Access Control in Taftville, CT , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal in a retail environment, you will monitor entrances and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and promote a welcoming atmosphere for guests and staff. You will provide outstanding customer service while supporting a secure environment. Requirements
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the retail location.
- Monitor access points and verify credentials of individuals entering and exiting the premises to help to deter unauthorized entry.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the store and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, visitors, and/or local law enforcement as needed.
- Complete detailed and accurate reports of daily activities and incidents as required by Allied Universal and client protocols.
- Assist with emergency response activities and follow site-specific emergency procedures when appropriate.
