Job Description As a Security Officer - Logistics Yard Patrol in Independence, KY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will conduct routine patrols of yards, docks, and access points, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and assist employees and visitors with clear, professional communication. You will document observations, report concerns promptly, and support smooth operations through teamwork. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the building, loading docks, trailer yard, parking areas and perimeter, checking doors, gates, dock areas and restricted zones for unusual activity and/or hazards.
- Monitor access points and vehicle flow, verifying credentials, logging visitors and contractors, and directing drivers and deliveries according to post orders.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarm activations, disturbances, medical calls and/or unauthorized access concerns, and notify Allied Universal supervision and site contacts as required.
- Complete detailed reports of patrol activity, incidents and shift turnover information, and communicate observations to oncoming personnel and/or site management.
