About The Position

As a Security Officer - Logistics Yard Patrol in Summerville, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control, communicate clearly with team members and site personnel, and provide strong customer service while using site technology as needed. Requirements

Be 21+ years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including supporting de-escalation and requesting additional assistance when needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of warehouse areas, loading docks, yard spaces, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
Monitor access points for employees, visitors, and drivers, following site procedures for arrivals, departures, and routing to designated areas.
Observe and report unusual conditions such as doors left unsecured, unauthorized persons in restricted areas, damaged fencing, or suspicious vehicles, and communicate findings per site protocol.
Complete detailed shift activity logs and incident reports, including documenting observations, actions taken, and notifications made.
Coordinate with site leadership and responding public services during alarms, medical situations, fire-related events, or other emergencies as directed by post orders.
Support traffic flow and pedestrian awareness near dock doors and yard lanes when assigned, helping to reduce congestion and support orderly movement.
Use required systems such as radios, phones, and site technology for communication, dispatch coordination, and documentation, following site guidelines.
Participate in site orientations, post briefings, and required training, and follow Allied Universal and site policies while on duty.
