As a Security Officer - Logistics Access Control Driver in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer assigned to an access control post in a logistics and distribution location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring entry points and conducting routine patrols. Your presence and professional communication will contribute to a positive experience for all on site, while following access protocols. This is a driving post and requires a valid driver's license. Requirements

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized personnel, visitors, and vehicles as part of access control procedures.
  • Assist in carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies to help protect people, property, and information at the logistics and distribution location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following prescribed protocols and reporting incidents as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Provide customer service by offering assistance, information, and directions to employees, contractors, and visitors as needed.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal team members and client representatives to address security-related needs and support emergency response activities when appropriate.
