About The Position

As a Security Officer Lobby Reception in Kankakee, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Requirements

A guard card and/or license is preferred.
Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control practices, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a front desk location within a manufacturing and industrial setting.
Monitor visitor, vendor, and employee entry and exit activity, verify credentials, issue access materials as directed, and report unusual or suspicious activity to site leadership.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with Allied Universal management and/or the client contact as needed.
Answer phones, greet arrivals, manage sign-in records, and support front desk operations while helping to deter unauthorized access and maintaining awareness of security-related concerns.
Complete routine logs, incident reports, and other required documentation, and relay important information during shift changes to support consistent front desk coverage.
