About The Position

As a Security Officer - Lobby Checkpoint in Cherry Hill, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a front desk in an educational location, you will welcome students, staff, and visitors while supporting a smooth, professional entry experience. You will help monitor access, verify identification and/or badges, respond to alarms and service requests, and document security-related activity with clear communication. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access requirements, and Allied Universal post orders at the front desk.
  • Monitor the lobby area, visitor flow, and security-related systems such as cameras, alarms, and access control to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or policy violations.
  • Greet and screen visitors, issue temporary access credentials when authorized, maintain visitor logs, and direct guests to appropriate campus destinations.
  • Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, initiating notifications and/or emergency response activities as directed by site procedures.
  • Complete detailed shift activity reports, incident documentation, and pass-down communications, and coordinate with campus stakeholders for service needs and security-related concerns.
