About The Position

As a Security Officer - Lobby Checkpoint in Van Nuys, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As a Front Desk Officer at a high-profile aerospace and defense location, you will greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, manage access logs and badge check-ins using a computer and/or tablet, and communicate clearly when concerns arise. You will support a professional, customer-focused experience while helping to deter security-related incidents. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have customer service experience, preferred.
  • Have a state, county, or city issued security license, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors at the front desk by following site-specific security-related procedures, access policies, and emergency response instructions when appropriate.
  • Control entry by greeting guests, confirming identity and/or authorization, issuing visitor badges, and directing individuals to the correct location while maintaining a professional front desk presence.
  • Monitor lobby activity and security-related systems such as alarms, cameras, and/or access control panels, and report irregular conditions according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and notifying the appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Maintain accurate front desk logs and reports such as visitor records, deliveries, calls for service, and incident documentation in accordance with site requirements.
