About The Position

As a Security Officer Lobby Access Coordinator in Wayne, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. At a busy higher education location, our Front Desk professionals help create a welcoming presence by managing access, greeting students, staff, and visitors, supporting badge and visitor processes, and monitoring security-related activity from a stationary post. With Allied Universal’s caring culture, teamwork, and integrity, you will deliver reliable, customer-focused service while helping to deter incidents and support daily campus operations.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a higher education location.
  • Monitor the front desk area, greet students, staff, and visitors, and help manage access in accordance with site policies and visitor procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, questions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with campus contacts and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Maintain awareness of activity at the entrance and lobby, document security-related concerns, and report unusual conditions or policy violations through proper channels.
