Security Officer - Industrial Rover Driver
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Industrial Rover Driver in Palo Alto, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed, driving patrol officer supporting a busy retail and mall location. You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, assist guests and store teams with directions and concerns, and document observations using a computer and/or tablet. Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail and mall location.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of common areas, storefront corridors, parking lots, loading areas, and perimeter routes; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with medical calls, disturbances, suspicious activity, and fire or intrusion alarms.
- Monitor access points and public areas, observe for policy violations, and help to deter theft, vandalism, and other unwanted activity through visible presence and timely reporting.
- Document patrol activity, incidents, and other security-related observations in written reports and communicate updates to site management and Allied Universal supervision as needed.
