About The Position

Security Officer I's provide safety and security services to ensure the well-being of both people and property by patrolling assigned areas as needed, and enforcing rules and regulations. This role responds to all emergency requests and alarms, providing assistance and coordination. HSHS Security are often the first or last person our patients, visitors and colleagues encounter in our facilities. Therefore, Security Officer I's are expected to be professional and courteous, while balancing the challenges that occur while working in the hospital environment. Hospital Sisters Health System is a multi-institutional health care system serving communities throughout Illinois and Wisconsin, with 13 hospitals, numerous community-based health centers and clinics, and over 13,000 colleagues. Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or related vocational training is required
  • Valid state driver’s license and must be insurable to operate hospital vehicles is required

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in law enforcement, Criminal Justice or military service is preferred
  • One year of experience with knowledge of private security functions obtained through education or work experience such as military, public safety or fire department is preferred
  • Successfully complete the Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) Certification within the first 90 days of employment is preferred (if utilized at the affiliate)
