About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Rover Patrol in Petersburg, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support staff, patients, and visitors with strong communication, customer service, and timely reporting. Requirements

  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • A Guard Card/License is preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and timely notification to site leadership and/or emergency services.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior corridors, waiting areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter grounds to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards such as unsecured doors or suspicious behavior.
  • Control access at designated points by monitoring visitor flow, verifying authorization where required, and directing individuals to the appropriate department while maintaining professional conduct.
  • Complete shift documentation including patrol logs, incident reports, and/or activity reports, and communicate status updates to Allied Universal supervision and site representatives.
