About The Position

As a Security Officer - Government Site in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed, driving Patrol Officer at a government transportation location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, assist riders and staff with directions and concerns, and document observations clearly. You will support access control, respond to calls for service, and communicate with professionalism. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Applicants must be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR Certification is preferred.
  • A Guard Card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at government transportation facilities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with crowd management, service disruptions and/or medical situations until additional resources arrive.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of stations, platforms, parking areas, buildings and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance, lighting and/or access concerns.
  • Control access where assigned by monitoring doors, gates and restricted areas, verifying credentials when required and directing visitors to appropriate locations.
  • Complete detailed activity logs and incident reports, monitor cameras and/or alarms when assigned and communicate with supervisors and public agency partners as needed.
