As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that may help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and visitor interactions, document observations, and communicate clearly with site personnel and responding partners. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Pepper spray certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Baton certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards or unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points, check credentials when required, and direct visitors and contractors according to site procedures and post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify the appropriate site contacts and/or public services as directed.
  • Document patrols, observations, incidents, and irregularities in written reports and/or electronic logs, and communicate status updates during shift transitions.
