Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Badge Control Government in Alexandria, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements
- An armed guard card or license is required.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- CPR and/or first aid certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and observe for suspicious or unusual behavior, reporting findings as required.
- Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential security-related concerns.
- Communicate and collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency responders as needed.
- Complete detailed and accurate incident reports and daily activity logs as required by Allied Universal and the location.
- Follow all protocols regarding the handling and carrying of firearms as outlined by Allied Universal and client policies.
