About The Position

As a Security Officer - Badge Entry Monitor in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a leading financial institution, you will monitor entrances and manage badge access, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment for staff and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and provide outstanding customer service, all while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first in every interaction.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing access control procedures for employees, visitors, and contractors at the location, verifying credentials and granting entry as appropriate.
  • Monitor entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas within the financial institution.
  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by following site-specific policies and procedures, including responding to inquiries and offering guidance as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal protocols and site guidelines.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, suspicious activity, or policy violations according to established procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the premises and perimeter to help to deter potential security-related threats and identify hazards.
  • Support emergency response activities as required, including following evacuation or lockdown procedures.
  • Collaborate with site management and Allied Universal supervisors to address client needs and maintain a secure environment.
