About The Position
As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Entry Monitor in Monroe, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal at a utilities location where you will manage access control at key entry points, greet employees and visitors, and verify credentials and badges. Requirements
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and/or authorization, manage visitor processing, and maintain access logs and required documentation.
- Support security-related screening of vehicles, packages, and deliveries as directed by post orders, and communicate discrepancies to site leadership.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, unauthorized access attempts, and/or operational disruptions.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including building interiors and perimeter routes when applicable, and report conditions that may help to deter unauthorized activity.
