About The Position

As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Entry Monitor in Irwindale, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Allied Universal officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will support access control at entrances and key areas, greet guests and associates, verify credentials, manage visitor logs, and monitor activity to help identify and report security-related concerns. Requirements

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, and staff by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail and/or mall location.
• Control access at designated entrances and restricted areas by verifying identification and/or credentials, managing visitor check-in, and directing deliveries and vendors according to site procedures.
• Monitor alarms, cameras, and access points, and document security-related activity using logs and incident reports per post orders.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, contacting management and/or emergency services, and assisting with crowd and traffic flow as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout common areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and report maintenance hazards, property damage, and policy violations.
