As an Access Control Officer at a utilities location, you will support daily site operations by managing entry points, verifying credentials, issuing badges, and logging visitors and/or deliveries. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents through clear communication and strong customer service. Requirements

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification and authorization, issuing temporary badges and/or passes, and maintaining accurate visitor, contractor, and delivery logs.
  • Screen vehicles, packages, and/or materials as required, coordinate with site contacts for approvals, and report unusual conditions according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including radio communications, documenting events, and notifying appropriate contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, operational areas, and the perimeter, noting maintenance and/or security-related concerns and submitting timely reports.
