As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will help manage entry points, greet visitors, verify credentials, and maintain clear activity logs while providing strong customer service and communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under Allied Universal driver policy requirements, supporting mobile presence and rapid response across the site. You will support a security-related environment through teamwork, integrity, and a people-first culture.

Requirements

  • Security Experience ‐ 1+ Years is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and vendors at a government location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at designated entry points by checking identification, validating authorization, issuing temporary credentials as directed, and maintaining visitor and/or vehicle logs.
  • Monitor access control systems, cameras, and alarm panels as assigned, reporting irregular activity and documenting security-related events per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating notifications and assisting public emergency response partners as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including exterior perimeter and interior common spaces, as permitted by post orders and location requirements.
