As a Screener at a government location, you will help manage entry points by screening visitors and packages, verifying credentials, and supporting access control procedures. You will stay visible, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly while providing a welcoming customer service experience. Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be 21 or more years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Operate entrance screening posts, including verifying authorization for entry, directing foot traffic, and conducting bag and property inspections consistent with site requirements.
  • Use screening equipment such as walk-through metal detectors and/or hand-held wands as trained, while maintaining a professional, respectful interaction with all entrants.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, notification of site contacts, and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas as directed, including interior and/or exterior checks and reporting maintenance or security-related concerns per post orders.
