As an Allied Universal Officer at a government location, you will support access control operations by welcoming visitors, verifying credentials, issuing badges, and managing entry points. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter incidents, and document and communicate activity clearly. Requirements

  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Guard Card/License is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and vendors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Control access to restricted areas by verifying identification and/or credentials, issuing visitor passes, managing sign-in and sign-out logs, and directing authorized personnel to designated entry points.
  • Monitor access points, gates, and designated camera views for unusual activity, and report maintenance or operational concerns that could impact access control operations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with notifications, documenting events, and supporting arriving public agency responders as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, staging areas, and perimeter zones to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or suspicious activity, and complete required reports and logs.
